There could be a million reasons why you couldn't sign in but no with no further information we'll never know which one, will we? Are you connected to the internet? If not, that would explain it? Can you tell us exactly what steps you took to sign in and what the response was, if any, to each of these steps from your system

internet is connected, i can surf with firefox, just that skype keep on rolling and not signed in, when when i log on Windows 7, it signed in very fast.

Did you configure it properly? I.e. Did you enter a valid e-mail address in your profile settings?
If your internet connection works, then check the firewall. Suse has it loaded by default, which can block some apps in some cases.
And if your connection is other than cable (wlan, etc.) make sure you have some advanced network manager (usually not default gnome/kde one).
Also,if you have 64bit Suse, search for Skype 64bit issues on linux solutions (there is not a 64bit version Skype for Suse, therefore 32bit version should be tweaked)
