Skype didn't ring

I installed Skype 2.1 beta on Slackware 13 KDE 4.2.4. I can play musik and movies but can't hear skype ring. Only notifying message appear but with no sound. I try all settings on "sound devices" in skype, but no result.

How can I fix it?

Are you playing music and movies from a file or from a CD/DVD? The sound could be coming from the CD channel, and the computer's channel might be muted. Try playing with the audio mixer in KDE (not the skype preferences) and raise the volume of the "front" channel and all the others you can play with. Can you hear audio when you go to a web site such as YouTube?

I played files, not DVD or CD. In mixer bars are adjustable and can lower or raise volume. The problem is only on skype, that can't hear when ringing.
