Trying to download Skype to my Acer one that is running Linpua.
How do I do it and what version of Skype do I download?

Is it possible to remove Linpus and install another OS? how do I do that if I have another Op system on a USP stick

Hi kip500,

I'm running Slackware and Bluewhite and I install the "skype_static-" version. Extract the archive as root, move the directory to where you want it to reside (I use /usr/local/share), create a symbolik link in /usr/local/bin to the executable "skype" and make an entry in the programmmenu of your windowmanager.
At last you have to look at your soundcardsettings to get speakers and microfon working in the right way.

This is Acer's European app server.

Download Skype from here and it will work in Linpus.

Good luck.

Yes, it is possible. I've already done just that (removed Linpus and installed another distro) on several machines. Just burn a bootable (iso image) cd for the distro you want to install, make sure the boot priority of the machine's bios is set to boot from a CD if one is present and off you go.
