Skipping initializations

If during a particular hardware initialization (at boot) the thing just stop there (or it just wont stop looking for that thing) & won't go to the next steps.. is there any command whatsoever to skip that part n continue booting??

u can try fail-safe mode
or
type I for interactive bootup
or
try to disable some services
or
u can wait more than 3mins

but i think hardware detection comes before interactive boot?
then that means u have to change your hardware setup
or kernel compile?

i'm not sure
i'm also waiting for better answer.. =)
