Size suffix notation- MiBs vs megabytes, M vs. m

Hi,
I am trying to set the size of physical extents and reading man page of vgcreate. This utility has the option to set the size of those extents and needs input on the size from the user/admin (obviously). One can set the size in MiBs or in megabytes but the text isn't clear on which size suffix denotes which measurement. Is it "M" for mebibytes and "m" for megabytes? "K" for kibibytes and "k" for kilobytes?

I would doubt that it matters - the manpage states it must be a power of 2 .... :twocents:
