Single Click for Icons more convenient

In both Fedora and Ubuntu icons, both desktop and apps, need a double click to launch. I've looked but cannot find a way to change to a single left click - does any one have a solution? Not earth shaking importance but what the heck.

Thanks dagrollo

If you're running GNOME, select System -> Preferences -> File Management. In the tab Behavior, check "Single click to activate items" and the trick is done.
Instead, if you are running KDE, open the KDE control center. Go to Peripherals -> Mouse and check "Single click to open files and folders".

Thanks for the help

Works in Fedora, but with Gnome/Ubuntu there is not the same menu options available. Any idea how to do it with Gnome/Ubuntu?

Thanks again

You can try from Nautilus settings: open a Nautilus window (e.g. from menu Places -> Home Folder) then select Edit -> Preferences -> Behavior -> Single-Click to Activate Items.
