Simple things.
Newb. Is there a sort of a tutorial/welcom guide type idea to inform me what I can do in linux. I've heard people say that you can do a lot with the programming. So i'm just wondering what about it is better than everythign else?

Linux is open source to start(free) and is much safer than a normal windows system. It provides more power to the user if they know what they are doing. The exact specificatiopn of the OS vary from distro to distro. to learn aboput various distros go here. There are howtos and faqs all over the place. You could start looking at the LQ tutorials. Otherwise go look on various linux distribution sites.
also next time try to make the title more descriptive |

I suggest you spend some time getting familiar with Linux. Go to www.tldp.org and browse through it to get some basics. I don't have any links for "welcome tutorial" but others here will give your some good pointers... Welcome to Linux and good luck. Tux, |
