simple modem question


How do I get my modem to work in gentoo.

do I make a symbolic link between some device and /dev/modem??

Its on com1

Thats not necessarily a simple question, what type of modem is it?

its an external modem. It uses all the standard external commands as I have been using it on slackware without problems. Just need to set that link up.

is it ttyS1 ?????
