simple linux network (mandrake and suse)
I'm totally new to linux, and am just experimenting with it at the moment but I have a problem.
I'm trying to set up a simple network between 3 pc's 1 running Mandrake 10.1, and two running suse 9.0 (not proffesional so no server options).
I don't want to connect to the internet (I've only got AOL broadband(i didn't know it wouldn't work!)). I just want to connect the three machines so they can share files.
I've installed nfs on the mandrake machine (i think) and can ping the two suse machines.
I've put a shared folder in my /etc/exports file. but when I try to connect the other way I get nothing.
I'm tearing my hair out here, anybody know what i'm doing wrong. I can't seem to find a tutorial or how-to that matches this (they all want you to connect to the internet.)
can anyone help or direct me to a newbie tute for this.
Thanks
