Unhappy Simple Linux goto Problem


This is quite simple, I know but it isnt seeming to work
For one thing is goto a regestered linux shell command??
I need to include goto in one of my scripts and it doesnt seem to be working

:label

goto label

Is there another way of easly jumping to a place in a script, thanks alot

AFAIK the BASH shell does not have a goto command but the C shell does. Without knowing the program flow of your script I can not offer any alternatives.

Can you show us your script (or at least the relevant piece). 'goto' is generally considered a bad idea... see here : http://www.acm.org/classics/oct95/
