Simple LILO question

I'm having problems changing the delay on LILO -- I have a single-boot Slack 9.1 system, and I'm tired of either waiting 2 minutes or pressing enter, especially when I have no other choices. my lilo.conf timeout is 50, but it doesn't change to 5 seconds (and yes, I'm editing as root).

Any ideas?

After you edit it are you running the 'lilo' command afterwards?

<--- noob

I thought it read the config file every time it booted (but of course now that makes no sense that I think about it). Thanks!

: ) no prob. when you run lilo it writes it to the master boot record, that is the only executable code your computer reads at that stage : )
