Silly question...that received no answeres or searching wrong place

Hi,
Think my question below is too silly to answere.. that's why no answeres received yet;)
I was successfully set up and run LTSP4.1 on RH9. The only thing I could not yet figure out after the boot message show xinetd started [ok], the next thing i.e. NFS service, takes 3 minuts approx to start[the hub indicators start blinking occasionally]!But when the internet connection is on it starts in fraction of a second! All other services start quickly. Once started NFS works full speed and the X terminals can download data in zooming speed.
Tried the exportfs -r with the etc/exports contents commented but no change in NFS startup time. I am not sure any thing to do with the dns configuration or not.
I tried to search from the LQ threads but not found any solutions may be I am searching in wrong place.

You might try checking the search order in /etc/resolv.conf. If the nameserver is listed first, it may need to timeout before a local name is searched. See the "man resolv.conf" manpage for more info, including the timeout option.
