shutting down in linux prob
Hey....
well, when I first used Mandrake 8.0, I noticed that the shutdown sequence would stop at : "usb0 disconnect", and wouldn't proceed. Then I would have to push to power button, and when I rebooted the machine, I would have to wait while the computer messed with the inode tables/filesystem. I know I can do a fast shutdown (with -nh tags), yet I would like to directly shutdown from GNOME. All advice is welcome. :newbie: |
If you're running gkrellm from within Gnome, you can download a 'launcher' that issues your fast shutdown command. Or, if you want, you can add an icon to your desktop that calls the same command.
