Exclamation Shutdown Problem -Toshiba Laptop


I have a toshiba laptop (2410-304S) with suse linux 8, and when i want to shutdown my computer he stops at this point:

The system will be halted immediately
Master resource control : runlevel 0 has been reached
Skipped services in runlevel 0 : personal firewall.initial

Anybody please help me!!!!

(I have also problems with the sound if anyone knoes anything....)

I am not sure about this, but I remember that in the 2.2.x kernel, there is feature that prevents the system from halting. If this is the case, see this link:

I am not familiar with SuSE, so I do not know what kernel version it uses. Are you shutting it down with '/sbin/shutdown -h now'?
