shutdown problem
Dear Linux experts,
When I reboot (usershutdown -r "now") or shutdown (usershutdown -h "now") my new linux box, immediately after issuing the command the screen goes blank. The shutdown process is running, but I can't see any of the messages. I use Slackware 12. Please advise what to do. |
Are you booting into runlevel 3?
Some video drivers don't release the hardware cleanly, and won't display the shutdown messages if you booted directly into X. I have had this happen on Nvidia cards under Slackware myself. |
Hi, thanks for your reply.
I am booting with runlevel 4. |
