shutdown computer?


how do i shut down the computer from kde?

Click the 'start' button, click "logout", from the 3 choices click "shutdown" or right click the desktop, select logout, select shutdown.

it only gives me a logout option or a cancel option....

Maybe you don't have permission to run "shutdown"

You could open a terminal, type "su", followed by root password,
then type either "halt" or "shutdown -h now"

yeah i have noticed i do not have permissions to do lot of things like save stuff and make a new directory... how would i go about giving myself these permissions?
