Big problem: my disk space seems to be shrinking fast ...
Linux starts complaining about it.

I installed Mandrake 10.0, and use it as a server.
Postgresql, Apache 2 and Tomcat have their data directories
set to a second disk, so there can't be the problem.

I could save some space for now by cleaning up some compiled sources
that were still in the local/src directory and not needed anymore,
but soon the problem will be back.

What is linux doing behind my back with my disc space ?
How can I
1) clean it up
2) prevent that linux keeps consuming more and more space
just by running ?

To clean it up.. remove stuff you don't use (packages, source code), old logfiles as well.

the linux pc is used as a server,
I don't work on the desctop,
and the programs that use disc space have their own disc.

why is linux taking up more and more disc space,
and how can I prevent it ...
