shift-delete!!!
 
Hi all,

there is one important file which is present in desktop.

unfortunatly i detelted(shift) that file!!

i want that file!! can i get that file!!

i am using suse10.1!!

plz hep me...urgent!!

"urgent!!" does not normally make anyone here move faster....

Was it a system file or one of your own? I don't know what shift-delete is, but I infer it is a way of bypassing the trash. If so, it is just like deleting the file in a terminal: The links are broken, but the data is still on the drive.

If it is really critical, then there are a variety of file recovery utilities out there--I have no personal experience in any of them. Search here or on Google using "linux file recovery" or similar.

Also do not move/copy or download any file till you recover your file else the data may get overwritten
