Well, it could, if 1) the first line of .bash_aliases contained a shebang (
#!/bin/bash) and 2) the executable permission bit for the file was set. But the output of
cat .bash_aliases in
#5 didn't include the shebang:

So, I also don't see how it's possible. Or the OP haven't shown us the whole output.
