shell, path and user

Hello ,
Does anybody know how to show in shell user name and actaul path instead only name of executing kind of shell (in my example this is bash). I know that it probably depends on files bashrc and profile in etc, and home directory but what kind of elements should there be to show that??

Thanks for interesting

.bashrc
PS1=\u@\h \W\w

that might or might not be what you want, if not:

$man bash
then:
/\\u
