I have been in linux for 2 months and I know this will sound stuped but I haven't found a command to see how much space I have left in my hard drive. Is there a shell command to see that?

You can try out 'df -h' to get the results in more readable form.

Also, if you want to know the exact size of a directory, use
'du -h' and you will get the size of all the files, and finally the size of the directory.
