Sharing files between Linux and Windows partitions

Currently I have my windows partition mounted in Linux so that I have Read access to all of the files in the NTFS partition. However, I've ripped some mp3's to my linux partition and would like to write them to Windows. Is there a filesystem that Linux can write to that Windows can read as well?

If I were you I wouldn't try to read or write to a NTFS part. from linux. You can permanently damage the win file system! You better use a separate partition formatted as fat32 to exchange files between the 2 OS

Well what I'm looking to do is create a 3rd partition that both OS's can use.

IE:
1st partition = Windows on NTFS
2nd partition = Linux on ext3
3rd partition = Something that both OS's can read and write to.

That sounds like it will work. Make the 3rd partition FAT32.

But you also need a 4th, swap partition for Linux.

And I recommend ReiserFS, ext3 isn't as fast or space efficient.
