Sharing a partition of a hard drive between Windows and Ubuntu

At the moment i have a computer with windows installed. I already have a installer for Ubuntu linux which i plan to install. The ideal thing for me to have on my 200GB hard drive is:

30GB partition with windows installation (know how to do that)
10GB partition with Ubuntu installation (know how to do that)
1GB partition with Ubuntu swap partition (know how to do that)
159GB partition with data i can share between windows and ubuntu (dont know how to do that)

I know the actual size of my hard drive isnt 200gb but this is just an example.
The main thing i want to know is which file system to use on the data partition, and how to acces that partition in both operating systems. Thank you to anyone who responds

always use fat32 to share between operating systems, not ntfs, and not a unix based filesystem...
