Shares between Linux Fedora 14 and Windows Machines

I have a Windows workgroup, and the Linux machine can see the Windows machines, but when I try to access the files on the Windows machines I get the following error:

"Unable to mount location
Failed to retrieve shares from the server"

DO NOT USE fedora 14 !!!
Fedora 14 is UNSUPPORTED
there will NEVER be any updates to it -- ever.
it is DEAD !

please stay current and install fedora 16 BEFORE you do anything else.

It actually ended up being a LDAP and security issue. Once I got the Fedora box to use LDAP all went well. Thanks for the reply, and I am trying Fedora 16 right now. Most of the reviews are not good about this build, what is your opinion?
