Shared Clipboard in Oracle VirtualBox does not work
I understand it is not an Oracle forum. The VirtualBox forum is out there. But I am simply sick and tired of setting up new accounts all over the Internet. Perhaps there is someone who knows how to handle this problem.
I do have this setup: Windows 7==>Oracle VirtualBox==>Ubuntu. It is important for me to use clipboard bidirectionally. I set up both Drag'n'Drop and Shared Clipboard bidirectionally but they do not work this way. What is the problem? Thanks, - Alex |
i've been watching this thread since it came out, because i have the same question - except i'm using virtualbox like this: archlinux==>virtualbox==>otherlinuxes
shared clipboard is checked and activated (and so are guest additions) but does not work. |
Are either of you members of the vboxusers or it's Windows equivalent?

I'm stuck then. Sorry about that.

Honestly I am fascinated with Linux and want it to work but so far I've encountered numerous problems. It is hard to exactly pinpoint why certain things work and others don't. First I created a Ubuntu VM where the bidirectional clipboard and drag'n'drop did work, believe it or not, but not from the very start. They began working about a week after I set it all up. Then all of a sudden that VM died, just like that. So, I created a second one and here the same things (clipboard & drag'n'drop) refused to work. What is the common denominator of all this? - Alex
