Arrow Several Issues - Sound, etcetera

Okay, here we go. I installed Simply Mepis Linux 3.3 today. Prior to this, I only had Win2k Pro on my machine. . So to put it blunt, I have no )*&#%)&*%$ clue what I'm doing here. That said, I have a few things I need to get some help on.

1. Seems Mepis Lovers is a god place for info, but I'll leave this for anyone who wants to post nother source, preferably for Mepis specifically.

2. My sound is no worky! Have a built-in Realtek ALC 880, and all of the responses on this one seem to be enigmatic. Any lay man version someone can give?

This is the second time I have edited this initial post. Let's hope it sticks this time, eh?

I'm impressed you spelled out etc.

Though I am not aware of Simply Mepis Linux 3.3 per say, questions can typically be of a generic nature.
What sort of questions do you wish to ask?

I think ure just playing here; trying to get peeps interested!
OK. I'm game. I'll check it out

Odd thing...

For some really odd reason, I pressed enter instead of backspace when typing my first post. It entered the post and I was stuck with one of the three questions I wanted to ask. I then edited it. Much to my unending happiness, my wireless card was working within 2 minutes of the first response. Even stranger, this post (pre-edit) seems to be separate from my edited post (and yes, I did edit it and not start a new thread, for those who would wonder). This is an oddity.... in many respects.
