Have you gone through the install docs?
http://people.ee.ethz.ch/~oetiker/we...nix-guide.html

spank 12-07-2003 01:25 PM

yes it's installed on my box. I have rh 9. mrtg comes with it

david_ross 12-07-2003 01:31 PM

Then you can skip down to configuration:

What would you like to know?

spank 12-07-2003 01:44 PM

I want to create two graphs. My box is a gateway. I would like to have the transfer on eth0 and 1.

spank 12-08-2003 02:08 PM

anybody ? please !

david_ross 12-09-2003 01:08 PM

Perhaps you would find it easier to use a ready built web interface. See:
http://steveshipway.org/software/

spank 12-09-2003 01:36 PM

yes, i've thought about that and i've installed cacti and rrd tools but it doesn't display my graphs

spank 12-09-2003 02:09 PM

how did you do it?
i have it installed.
i have my config file pointing to the mrtg directory i made:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
WorkDir: usr/var/www/mrtgWorkDir: usr/var/www/mrtg
#Target[r1]: 2:public@myrouter.somplace.edu
#MaxBytes[r1]: 1250000
#Title[r1]: Traffic Analysis
#PageTop[r1]: <H1>Stats for our Ethernet</H1>
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

but i dont' know what to put in that directory (usr/var/www/mrtg), nor what to do with the Target, MaxBytes, Title, PageTop in the config file..... or anything else that is needed. i too want to monitor the transfer on eth0. i need to monitor the traffic. how did you get everything it set up?
