I need to setup a modem in knoppix, well I installed it to my hard drive (its debian now) and I dont know how to install a modem, i have looked at howto files, and they all confuse me Is there any real easy way to install without loads of coding? coding doesn't bother me, but if coding is neseccery i will do what ever it takes! But any ways thats my problem! I don't know what kind of modem the computer has though!

Running 48MB (1 32mb dimm, and 4 4mb simms) 4 GB hd, 233 MHz, 4 mb video! ITS ONLY A TEST COMPUTER!!!!!!!! and it runs debian (I was suprized! LOL cost me: $20.00 I live the yard sales!!!

My real computer:

4 GB DDR2 6 hard drives 250GB/ea (1.5 TB) dual 3.4 GHZ cpu, dual 256 MB video S-video in (with Xbox and PS2 hooked up), 800MHz bus speed, 16x dvd-rw, (external cd-tower W/7 16x cd-roms (for copying music! LOL)) dual 21" LCD monitors (1 video per screen) 6.1 surround sound system with 1200 Watts max! Hugh black case with green neon lights, and watercooled at 72degrees F., 4 120mm fan 2 80mm for cpu's, 2 60mm for video cards! really sweet system with windows XP pro. It only cost $6000.00

If it's an internal modem then there's a chance that its a winmodem, which is a cheaper modem that leaves a whole bunch of stuff to windows.

Search for linmodems and goto the website.

I had to get a new modem cos the internal one I had didn't work
