Talking Setting up Evolution with FC3 Total Newb

I have just taken the plunge because i have had 1 to many blue screens of death. I want to setup evolution. I have comcast cable internet connection. What do i do to setup an email account in evolution. I would like to use POP, I don't know if i can, but where do I find the hostname, ip address (and yes i did try ipconfig in the terminal, god i hate windows). If someone can just start me off with just setting up, where i can send and recieve email i can figure out that rest i think.

well first you need to know the names of your pop and smtp severs supplied from comcast. you should be able to find these on their support site. Now go to evolution and click to start. then you go through the set up process. It will ask you for your email address, user name, password and sever names. insert them as approriate. Should work like a charm.

It's really no different to setup mail in Lin than Win, but some companies like Comcast include dumb little applications that set up all the settings for Windows on those CD's they tell you to use to connect (totally unnecessary).

Getting things going can be kind of tough at first, just wait until you want to view real and quicktime videos. But stick with it ... you will eventually be happy to find new obstacles to overcome, and feel like a genuis when you do.
