setting up email server


This as for sure been asked before but my searches did not bring anything up....
I still really see myself as a newbie, but a newbie that find its way aroung pretty well, that as been able to help a few with problem, and that knows a bit of python programming(Enough to do a few usefull script, at least for me)
I run slack 9.1 on a IBM 200 MHZ 64 ram (with a cable modem through USB that as been stable for 3 months) and want to setup a email server.
i'm lookin through HOW-TO on the web. I ai'nt in a hurry, i wanna do it to learn an i wanna learn it good....
Any suggestion of HOW-TO or good ressources would be very appreciated...

go to the guide at the top of the slackware forum called "This is how I do it all" by Shilo. click on the link he posted that takes u to the updated guide. It gives very specific instructions on how to get an email server and a web server going. his site name is http://shilo.is-a-geek.com/slack/
i set up my own servers with the help of his guide.

is there something similar for fedora core 1 that anyone knows about?? i want to do pretty much the same thing
