I'm having trouble getting my new Linux installation connected to the internet.

I have a BT Voyager ASDL modem, which is connected via USB. It connects fine when I boot under WinME, but I just can't get the setup right to make it connect under SuSE 8.1.

SuSE's YAST utility has a page which deals with ASDL modem setup. There aren't many options, and it seems simple enough. I'm fairly certain that I have it set up to match the settings on Windows.

It is set to use PPP over ATM, and the vpi/vci is set to 0.38.

However it fails when trying to connect. The log says simply "(0.38) No such device."

I would guess that it's probably a very simple thing that I'm overlooking, but it's driving me nuts. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong!
