This is not possible / makes no sence, just configure your player to use another audio output. oss works for me. What is the name of this "music player"?? Go on help menu ... "about" to find out.

With what command line does mplayer work? try "mplayer -ao help" to discover what audio outputs you have and then "mplayer -ao <output> <filename.mp3>" to find out witch ones work.

Rhythmbox 0.8.8

Hello,

The music player i was talking about is Rhythmbox 0.8.8.
I have done the test asked by you to see what is used to playback in mplayer, and alsa does'nt work there.
mplayer works with oss/ioctl or with sdl (sdlib).
Thus since the rhythmbox try's to use alsa it is normal it doesn't work, but the software does not seem to have something
where you can change it, some way to do it manualy ?

Thx
