setting programs as default in mandrake 9.1
 
hi all how do i set a program as default in mandrake 9.1 as i am new to linux and want my evolution email to be the default one also there are a few other progs i want to be default

I am not sure what you mean by default. Do you mean that when you click on a file name you want a certain program to open? You do that by setting the file associations in Control Center. Start kcontrol (Control Center). Click on KDE Components -> File Associations -> the file type (such as text) and then the file extension (such as html). The program that you place at the top of the Application Order will be the program that will be run when you click on a file using one of the Filename Patterns.
