Setting File / Directory Permission, with sticky

I would like to set a directory's permission to be recursive. For instance:

I have 2 users: chris, john
They both belong to a development group: develop

I would like to set the folder /var/www/html/ and any of it's sub folders to apply the owner and group permissions correctly.

drwxrsxr-x <- is what I am looking for... but I want it to work.

I have seen this done, but have had some trouble making mine work in the same fashion.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

it should be...

drwxrwsr-x

What exactly doesn't work? If you make a file/folder in this directory, the files/folders should be in the same group as this directory.
