setting acroread as default PDF viewer

I have installed acrobat reader on my machine. How do I set it(acroread) as the default reader for all PDF files? So that I can just click on the file icon and acroread automatically opens and loads the file? Anybody know?

I think it depends on what desktop or window manager you're using. Is it KDE or GNOME? Or maybe something else? And by the way what's you distro?
