set uid helper is not correct

What does this mean???

I was prompted to dl some updates after a fresh install but it was only partially successful, and when I rebooted, the screen froze with the mssge:

Cannot open Konsolekit session

Permission of the setup uid in not correct.

Can this be solved from alive cd or Grub menu?

I'm assuming that you want to know how to set the uid bit so the program can run. Boot from the alive CD, then as root enter the following command from a terminal window

chmod u+s setup
chmod changes the permission bits on a file. u+s sets the uid bit to on while u-s sets the uid bit to off. I'm assuming the offending program is named "setup"

One word of caution: Any program with setuid enabled can be potentially dangerous to your system. If the program contains a virus then setting the setuid to on will enable the virus to invade files across your entire system while setuid off prevents a virus from attacking files that are not owned by the current userid (the user who is logged on to the terminal) unless the user is root. (This is the reason you shouldn't be logged in as root)

May you prosper from this adventure.
