Set number lock on at boot


Does anyone know how to set the number lock to default to on at boot?

Which Desktop Environment? KDE, Gnome, XFCE, wm, none???

KDE: Control Center / Peripherals / Keyboard / NumLock Setting

Other DE's have their own way - poke around.

If you do not run X, then there is a solution too. But there are so many options in Linux, you have to help us out here. We are not mind readers.

If you're really running Etch, as your profile says;

Install console-tools if you don't already have it, then
...add "LEDS=+num" to /etc/console-tools/config

OTOH, pushing on the NumLock key is hardly exhausting.
