Question Session setup problem, abort.

i have tried to login to another user in bash i got the following error.
i am sure that the user has not yet logged on in any terminal.

[bala@localhost ~]$ login
login: bharani

Session setup problem, abort.

You are already logged in (as bala).

If you want to become user bharani you need to su (set user)

[bala@localhost ~]$ su - bharani

Whether the other user is logged in or not is irrelevant.

thank u
in one post i read that the problem may be due to having the same password for both user and root . in my case the password for both bharani and root are same.

because i have logged in as other users using the login command in the shell.
