Server Setup Tutorials

First off, sorry to moderators if this is in the incorrect forum, if so, please move :)

Hello all,

Im trying to find the *best* tutorials to setup my Fedora Core 2 Server, feel free to post yours or others tutorials.

Here are the topics im very interested in installing:

Samba PDC
Apache, PHP, MySQL, PHPMyAdmin
A Linux Mail Server - Post what mail server you think is the *best* and why
Security, Firewall

Also, a small systems control panel, like webmin, but not as big.

If you can think of many suggestions for my Linux Server, feel free to post them.

Thank you for your help and time :]

That will take care of Qmail and iptables. For an administration, putty.exe or ssh and edit the configs. Everyone loves fedora (except me), so forgive me for asking this.

Do you really want to run someones "test " cycle as a server?

I forgive you, and thanks for the url, I don't understand you when you say "test" cycle?

Thank you for helping me out :]

Someone else's test cycle refers to Fedora being Red Hat's development branch (Something like Linus's tree of the kernel )

Ah, well now I can give a good clear answer:

Im not fairly new to unix based flavours, but i was bought up on Redhat, I have found in my own personal experience, that Fedora is fit, and stable to be used for servering. (Others may disagree, and say there are better flavours for servering, which'll i attend to agree on)

The server I am building isn't a 'major' server, just a small samba/nat/pdc for my home network.

You may be interested in this: "Linux Home Server HOWTO" !

I am currently authoring this now, and it should be completed around new years.. 17.5 chapters (of 20) are now complete and covers everything so far that you have requested (except webmin, but you can get an rpm for that).

Looks good Miles, thanks my isp bellsouth only charges an extra 5$ a month but want me to buy the hardware from them so I have not done it yet, plus everything they want me to use is geared towards windows and I don't use it.I wish there was a isp that wanted to be linux friendly I would sign up in a minute.
