Serial mouse and VNC keyboard problems
I have installed linux on a computer that I am using as a "remote control" for one of my other windows machines. This works mostly fine, but I have a few problems.
1-the mouse: I installed using a PS2 mouse, but after install I changed to a 2button serial mouse(the other one was faulty). The problem is that the mouse does not work when I boot. Sometimes it suddenly starts to work after a little while, but most of the time I have to start up harddrake for it to work. All I have to do is to load harddrake and close it and it works fine. but the next time I reboot I have to do the same thing. I tried configuring the mouse in harddrake but it harddrake hangs when I have finished the configuration. 2-No keyboard controls in VNC(Fullscreen): I have made a shhortcut on the desktop that brings up the vnc viewer in fullscreen. The problem here is that I cant use the keyboard to remotely control the other machine, only the mouse. If I start up in windowed mode both keyboard and mouse works just fine. Also I read in the vnc manual that I could configure buttons to control the viewer (like pressing F12 to pop in and out of fullscreen), but where do I find(or put?) the .Xresources file and how do I use it? my cofiguration: Mandrake 8.2 (had it on a disc didnt bother to download a newer version) KDE AMD 300mhz 384RAM ArmyOfMe (:newbie: ) |
