Unhappy Sequencer Dev question

I have been having trouble with playing Midi's when I try to use Kmid Mandrake 9.0 tells me .........

" Couldn't open /dev/sequencer.
Probably there is another program using it."

My system is duel boot and mid's do work in windows 98.

Also when I look in the Dev folder there are 2 sequencer devices this normal?

How can I get my mid's to play please?
