Sendmail

Greetings,

Everything is working except for my speed that i connect to my mail server. Sendmail/qpopper working but when i pop from my wrkstation the mail does arrive but not for about 20 seconds.

I tried telnet 192.168.0.X 110 and it to takes the same amount of time to eventually connect.

Thoughts?

This most likely isn't a sendmail issue but a pop issue. What happens when you telnet to port 25, do you get an OK prompt and connected any faster? What type of hardware and what pop daemon are you using along with distro?

telneting on 25 is much faster.

hardware = Dell poweredge 700
Distro = Mandrake 10.1 official
pop3d = qpopper

UPDATE

Thanks for your help. you inspired my to look in my xinetd.d folder and found that i had a ipop3 entry that was turned on. I disable it and it worked.
