Segmentation fault for GAIM

Alright, I am new to linux (Mandrake Linux) and I am using GAIM, but unfortunately when I go to Run Command and type in gaim, it opens, I type in my screenname & password, I press Sign On, and then it closes, so I go to shell, and type in gaim, and do the same stuff, and on the Shell it says:

Segmentation fault

Is there anything wrong, or can I fix this? I am really new to linux, and I am learning more.
