hi
i am struguling from segmentation falt.when i used chown and mkdir,i got this error "segmentation fault". but chgrp comand is working.
please suggest me regarding this. thank you.

Try reinstalling coreutils.
You can download source and compile from
http://www.gnu.org/software/coreutils/
I think it's straightforward CMMI ('configure', 'make', 'make install').

Or you can reinstall it with synaptic or use apt (depends on your distro).
If that doesn't help, wait a bit, somebody else might know
