If you search in google for "Hello world in linux" you get all the tutorials you need to write comiple and run programs in linux.

https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...orials-825748/ has a list of C/C++ tutorials. Python may be easier to learn for a beginner, but the best would probably to find out which language you will be using on your course (C? Python? Java? Matlab?) and then learn that one.

I find python easier then networking to computers lol. i guess some are good spellers and some mathematical geniuses lol.
