A small Linux sounds right at first,
Hi
A small Linux sounds right at first, but the SUSE 9.x I had on it ran with no difficulties and it was fully loaded, was running MYSql MQSeries Tomcat Apache Eclipse, And a bunch of other stuf, no problemns, except the Nic driver got Bogarted. I will seek a SUSE answer for a short while then try the small linux Thanks DickWoods |

If there is some sluggishness, you might try one of the lighter desktops. Xfce4 comes with openSuSE and is lighter weight than KDE or Gnome.

Dick if you like a little bit greeny and elegant try Linux Mint 7 Xfce. To have enough info about later distros try visit distro watch at http://distrowatch.com/ good luck. |
Thank you for your tips
Hi
Today will finish the SUSE trial, then get the other distros mentioned, Mint sounds interesting, not really a tree hugger but Ss cool, Dam Small Linux is interesting, but was a bit worried about handling Eclipse and WebSphere and MQSeries? Have to do some transaction things; Thanks & Regards DickWoods |
I think Vector-Linux or Xubuntu will be best. You can always add packages
