seeing GUI commands echoed in terminal ?

Is there any way to have GUI commands echoed in a terminal window ? I'm trying to learn command line syntax and it seems like that might be a good way to start...I know it's kind of backwards, but I understand how to use GUIs and barely know how to use command lines. Or does it not work that way ?

I don't think there is a tool for viewing the commands as they happen. You can look in kpm to see how each program was called. You can learn a lot about the command-line @ www.slackware.com/book .

That's a great site. Thanks.

I'm kinda new to the syntax too
but I find man pages to be very helpful in coming up with correct syntax

open terminal
man <client>
