Security question: Login to window manager as root

Dear all,
I have a habbit of openning a 2 sessions of xwindow (I'm using KDE), one as user to browse the internet and the other as root to do some admin work.

But someone told me that login to KDE as root is bad in terms of security. Is this true?

regards ethereal1m

Logging in as root in a terminal allows you to potentially damage your entire system with a single command, it is however quite low on the 'security risk' scale (unless you leave your root terminal open while there are spies around!)

Logging in as root in an X windowing session with a window manager running (ie KDE) will allow you to potentially damage your entire system with a single mouse click!

Think, use 'sudo'!

True.

This can lead into many bad thing. It's better if you did your admin work with "kdesudo".
