second hard drive

I'm going to try to install a second hard drive just to run Linux on. Will the instal software the drive comes with, partition okay for Linux?

And can I partition the new, second drive so I can try more than one distribution of Linux?

Cheers,

Blotch

You can format it under windows and then when you get to your linux install there will be utilities to format for a linux file system. Under linux the drive will be called "hdb" (win D) if its on your primary IDE controller as slave, the master will be "hda" (win C).
