Keep in mind Seagate has been having MAJOR problems
a 90% fail rate for 4 years of use is NOT good !!!

if you had SO many "bad sectors" that errors were poping up
reformatting will "HELP" for a short time
6 months ?

I always buy Seagate - admittedly not many, because they last so long.
Last one to "fail" gradually accumulated 25 SMART errors over 6 months - so I pronounced it to be a fail and cloned it.
It only lasted 6+ years.

The predictions for a brand are variable. The retail versions are transported badly. If possible should get enterprise ones.

SSD's are better.
